His hard work paid off this week. The hardworking Robb Travas was rewarded with the Southern League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy San Antonio Missions first baseman hit .478 while collecting 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.
Posting a .350 batting average to date, Travas has 6 home runs and 51 RBIs. |

Colestino Garcia burst onto the Eastern League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie first baseman for Connecticut garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 25-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .560 (14-25) with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs last week.
Thus far this season Garcia has hit .399 with 16 home runs, 74 RBIs and scored 69 times. |
 | Sunday, June 5th, 2016: Bay Sox Shut out by Selby
Joseph Selby of the Akron Aeros was in command from start to finish in his 8-0 shutout win over the Bowie Bay Sox. He struck out 5, walked 2 and allowed 3 hits.
"I felt strong the entire game," Selby said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
Selby has posted a 6-5 record in 2016 with a 3.39 ERA. Teams are hitting .239 against him and he has rung up 86 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. |
