| Breaking News | | Wednesday, May 25th, 2016: Douglas Has 30-Game Hitting Streak "Things went well for me today. I got 1 hit and the streak is up to 30 games. But we didn't win the game. As you all know, baseball is not about personal accomplishments, its about winning." Those words were spoken by John Douglas of the Atlanta Braves to BNN after his club dropped a 10-3 decision to New York (N). J. Douglas flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
Douglas is hitting .350 this year with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 180 at-bats, 28 walks and a .437 on-base percentage. Douglas has played in 46 games. | | Friday, May 20th, 2016: Jacobs Hurt, out 2 Months It took the New York (N) team doctor a while to realize it, but catcher Mike Jacobs won't simply play through a inguinal hernia after he got hurt running the bases in today's Yankees-Mets game. At first, it looked like Jacobs might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 months. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Jacobs as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
To date, Jacobs has collected 40 hits for a .265 average. He has posted 7 home runs, scored 22 runs and driven in 21 runs. | | Thursday, May 5th, 2016: New York (N) and Shaw May Part Ways In the latest churning of the rumor mill, reports indicate that 33-year-old reliever Tyler Shaw of the New York (N) Mets could be on the trading block. While the player refused to comment, the team did not outright deny the claims. "If it'll help this team, we'll make a move," said one team official. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | C Mike Jacobs | inguinal hernia | 7 weeks | On DL, eligible for return | | P Lou Russell | strained back muscle | one week | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 20-37, .351 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 14.5 GB | | Record at home | 15-16, .484 PCT | | Record on the road | 5-21, .192 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-4, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 7-10, .412 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 7-10, .412 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 13-27, .325 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 7-17, .292 PCT | | Record in May | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in June | 2-3, .400 PCT |
