| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 5th, 2016: League Suspends Flaherty and Stottlemyre for Fisticuffs
Following a mass brawl, the league has suspended Fritz Flaherty of Chicago (N) and Ray Stottlemyre of San Diego. The players will have to sit out 5 games each after trouble flared up between the Cubs and the Padres at a recent game at Wrigley Field.
This season Flaherty is hitting .284 with 5 home runs.
Stottlemyre's record so far this season is 1-and-0 with no saves and a 3.62 ERA. He has given up 34 hits in 32.1 innings with 16 strikeouts. |

Today Cubs pitcher Bob Dowd sparkled in a 6-hit shutout against the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. He fanned 3 and walked 3 to help Chicago (N) post the 5-0 win.
