Joe Bell was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Colorado Rockies 11-0 on 5 hits and had 3 walks and 9 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Colorado skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."

The Los Angeles (N) Dodgers have called a press conference later today to announce the signing of second baseman Jack Kelly to a 5-year, $21,055,000 contract.
Both Kelly and the Dodgers are said to be very pleased to come to this agreement.
For his career Kelly is hitting .271 with 128 homers, 606 RBIs and 919 hits.
