Not known for his offensive prowess, Rintaro Kiminami set the league afire in May and took home the Western League Batter of the Month award.
The Hanshin right fielder posted a steady .368 batting average, 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 runs.

Rintaro Kiminami burst onto the Western League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie right fielder for Hanshin garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 22-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .542 (13-24) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs last week.
This season Kiminami is hitting at a .317 pace with 3 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 26 times.

| Saturday, May 26th, 2018: Super Swinger -- Kiminami Slams 6 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Rintaro Kiminami as he led the charge to a 4-3 win over the Sunset.
The Hanshin right fielder was pure misery for the Shonan pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 6 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Sunset told BNN reporters after the game, "Kiminami put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
R. Kiminami singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off S. Ojima in the 8th, doubled in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off T. Matsuyama in the 13th.
This year Kiminami is batting .329 with 3 home runs and 22 RBIs.
