At Coors Field today Colorado blitzed the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 on a route-going gem by Mark Jones. He blanked them on a 6-hitter and had 1 strikeout in the contest.
In 10 starts this season Jones has chalked up a 6-1 record and a 3.53 ERA.

His face might be sun-baked after all the years he's invested in this game, but 36-year-old Josh Hamilton of the Milwaukee Brewers is still playing a kid's game -- and getting paid for it. The veteran center fielder had a tremendous week and was named the National League Player of the Week.
Hamilton drilled 12 hits in 24 at-bats and 3 home runs on his way to posting a .500 average. He also knocked in 8 runs and scored 6 times.

It has been in the rumor mill for several weeks, but today team officials for New York (A) and Milwaukee confirmed an agreement. The Yankees dealt 20-year old minor league starting pitcher José Creso, 20-year old minor league third baseman Roderick Presley and a 4th round draft pick to the Brewers for 24-year old minor league left fielder Bartoli Aviléz and a 5th round draft pick.
